James P. Martindale
President and Chief Executive Officer
Jim Martindale was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in June of 2010 where he is responsible for the day to day operations and strategic direction of the Company. Prior to that appointment, he has held several senior executive positions including: Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Manufacturing (2008-2010), and Vice President of Manufacturing and Technical Operations (2006-2008). He was named to the Board of Directors in 2008. Prior to coming to ADTI Media, Mr. Martindale held key leadership positions at InFocus Digital Media (1999-2006), and Hewlett-Packard (1981-1999). At InFocus, his roles included Senior Director of New Business Development where he was responsible for developing new business strategies for digital signage networks across multiple markets, including education, corporate and digital advertising. He led the successful acquisition of The University Network (TUN) and facilitated the expansion of InFocus' presence in digital media. Along with full P&L responsibility for InFocus' Digital Media Division, Mr. Martindale was also responsible for media sales and content relationships for NBC, College Sports TV, Movie Tunes and MyGuideWire. Other senior positions held were in the areas of Service, Application Engineering and Technical Sales, giving him an extensive background in the digital out of home (DOOH) industry. Mr. Martindale's 18 year career at HP included key leadership positions, ranging from Mechanical Engineer to Manufacturing Development Manager for HP's Specialty Printing Systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University.
Dr. Gregory Heacock, P h.D.
Vice President, Research & Development
Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Heacock, was appointed Vice-President, Research and Development and Chief Technology Officer in July of 2009. In this role, Dr. Heacock oversees all technological research, intellectual property and product development for the Company. Prior to joining the Company, he co-founded Sensor LLC, a material science development company for the medical industry where he served as Vice President, Research and Development from 2006-2009. From 2003-2006 he was Director of Engineering for the Visient Division of Light Sciences Corporation, a medical research company. Additionally, from 2002-2003, Dr. Heacock was also the co-founder and Chief Scientist of Retinal Technologies, Inc., a company specializing in high security biometric identification. Prior work included the Research Fellow for eMagin Inc. and the Research Director for Ocular Instruments, Inc. Dr. Heacock has more than 25 years of experience in the development of devices and products for the display, UI and medical markets, including extensive experience with regulatory approvals in the CDRH and ISO environments. His record of leading projects from the lab to the market has resulted in 41 new product introductions and his distinguished career in bioengineering has resulted in 13 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 12 invited lectures and 40 patents and patent applications. He maintains his academic association at the University of London, where he works at the forefront of development of User Interfaces, automated diagnostic systems and silicon based light devices. Additionally, he is an advisor to Central Washington University, College of Education and Professional Studies and a Member of "The Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers", London. Dr. Heacock holds a B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering from Central Washington University and a Ph.D. within the Faculty of Medicine and in the field of bioengineering from the University of London, UK.
Robert C. Ridgeway
Vice President, Global Business Development and Planning
Robert Ridgeway was appointed Vice President of Global Business Development and Planning in December of 2009 where he is responsible for sales, marketing, planning and business development. From July 2008, until his appointment, Mr. Ridgeway was principally engaged as an independent contractor to the Company, providing consulting services in the areas of finance, corporate development and administration. From July 2007 to July 2008, Mr. Ridgeway provided similar consulting services to various other companies as an independent contractor. From 1985 to 2007, Mr. Ridgeway worked for Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems, a United Technologies company where he held key leadership positions over his 22 year career. These positions included: Vice President and General Manager (2003-2007), Chairman of the Board of Revima APU, a joint venture of Hamilton and EADS (2003-2007), Director of Operations (2001 to 2003), Director, Business Development, Finance and Administration (2000-2001), Chief Financial Officer (1992 to 2000), Financial Planning Manager (1990 to 1992), and Senior Buyer and Operations Administrator (1985 to 1990). Mr. Ridgeway holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from San Diego State University.
Rick Baldacci
Vice President, Human Resources
Rick Baldacci was retained as a contract Vice President of Human Resources in May of 2008 overseeing the ongoing human resource needs of the Company, including hiring and recruitment, policy and benefits. Prior to joining ADTI Media, Mr. Baldacci founded RNL Solutions, a Human Resources Solutions provider for small start-up corporations (2001), and co-founded Eschenbaum & Baldacci, a national executive search firm, hiring key executives for venture-backed start-up companies (1993-2001). From 2001 to 2005 he served as a contract Vice President of Human Resources for Light Sciences, a biopharmaceutical company located in Seattle, WA. From 1990 to 1993 he was Vice President of Human Resources for Somatogen, a start-up biopharmaceutical company where he hired the majority of the company's executive management team and its 245 employees, established all of its policies and benefit programs, assisted in the recruitment of the Board of Directors, and assisted in the preparation of the company's successful IPO. Prior corporate positions across Mr. Baldacci's 30+ year career have included: President and CEO of H.R. Baldacci & Associates, an international executive search firm, (1985 -1990); Corporate Manager of Human Resources for Storage Technology Corporation (STK) (1980-1985), where his team of 31 hired 8700 employees across two years, nearly doubling the company's employee base; Manager of Human Resources for Statitrol Corporation (1983-1986), and Manager of Human Resources for Cobe Laboratories (1976-1980). Mr. Baldacci holds a B.A. from the University of Richmond.
Cheryl Johnson
Director of Operations
Cheryl Johnson was appointed Director of Operations in June of 2010. In this role, she reports directly to the President and CEO and supports the day to day operations of the company which include supply chain management, production and quality control. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Johnson served as Director of Procurement and Planning (2007-2010). In the 15 years prior to joining the Company, Ms. Johnson was employed by Fortune 500 companies, NCR (1990 to 1995) and Hewlett Packard (1995-2005). Her last role at NCR (National Cash Register which was later acquired by AT&T) was Sr. Account Manager where she was responsible for the Media Products Division's largest account, Costco. During her 10 years at HP she held many positions in Purchasing, Planning and Management, working closely with Research and Development, Manufacturing and Marketing to introduce new products and support existing ones. In her last job as Procurement Manager, she was instrumental in developing a contract with one of HP's largest OEM partners. Ms. Johnson holds a Bachelors Degree in Business (Marketing) from Cal State Long Beach and an MBA from the University of San Diego.
